Archival Context

In Archive Browser, the term "Context" is used to refer to the persons and agencies that created or used archival materials during their working life.

Person and agency records will generally contain a unique reference code, an identifying name and a brief description. In addition, they will typically include biographical and administrative notes and a list of associated materials.

To locate person or agency records in Archive Browser, you may:

Context records typically include hyperlinks allowing you to navigate directly to associated agencies, persons or archival materials.

They may also include links to associated images. As images are always displayed in a separate window, you must configure your browser to permit Archive Browser to open popup windows in order to view images.
